About us

In 2013, Smockingbirds was founded. Inspired by our mother's adventures in the boutique world of the 80's, we are two sisters who decided to bring our ideas and visions to life!

We've been on Etsy for years, but wanted a space where everyone could get the true feel of what we are all about: all things classically southern (and smocked, of course!)

My favorite part about creating Smockingbird's is being able to show my daughters that you can take your ideas, start your own business, & share your work with the world. You can do anything you set your mind to - being a working mom is incredibly rewarding!

I thoroughly enjoy designing every piece that we offer and then seeing my little customers wearing those pieces on their everyday journeys through life. We grow with them through the most incredible moments of their first magnificent years. 

We use the hashtag #birdsofafeathersmocktogether to emphasize moms coming together for a common love; not just of smocked clothing but also all things Southern! We're based out of Texas, so we're southerners at hearts.

Our logo design is something that really embodies our brand. If you'll notice the needle & bird in our design, it represents the smocking style & the state bird of texas, the Mockingbird. We want our brand to be classic, because that's what we embody. If you see our Smockingbirds logo stamped on a product tag or social media image, you know we've put our heart & soul into making that product the highest quality.
